Lay Flat ("LF") is Tajima’s most unique product, offering a wide range of product applications. LF is a system of modular planks and tiles that can be loose-layed with or without adhesive over acceptable substrates or installed in high moisture slabs with adhesive. It is offered with a smooth or ribbed backing, both of which can be permanently glued down.
Tajima's patented rib backing (anti-slip backing) prevents floors from moving when used without adhesive. It also helps channel moisture when used without glue over high moisture slabs. The ribbed back product allows for encapsulation over existing floors like VAT tile or for temporary installation which can be picked up and reused again in another location. The 5 mm thickness makes LF the perfect choice to compliment carpet tile, as most carpet tile butts to LF without the need for a transition. In addition, the 5 mm thickness makes a great option for both sound control and underfoot comfort.
LF is treated with Protech, Tajima’s UV Cured Polyurethane finish, which is a no wax floor system. This works well in the corporate market where auto scrubbing is difficult. LF can be glued down using the same adhesives that contractors commonly use when installing carpet tile, making it a better choice than other hard surface material. LF is also designed for use over access panels and is compatible with any manufacturer of panel. The 5 mm thickness helps hide telegraphing and allows for sound absorption and comfort under foot. LF is an anti-static product eliminating problems associated with static electricity. LF is FloorScore Certified so it meets the highest standards for indoor air quality. LF products are made with pre and post-consumer recycled content and contribute to LEED® Certification.
